Fiennes’ paintings are a maverick’s remix of art history, with stunningly well-observed depictions of animals juxtaposed with still lives and geometry. The artist employs fantastic colours in her combination of the photorealistic, patterned, adorned, abstract, decorative, and shimmering expressionism. This popular artist often works to commission.
”All my paintings exemplify my love of animals, however not in the traditional sense. I like to entertain my audience by placing the animals in unexpected or humourous circumstances.
Colour, texture and composition are the most important aspects of my paintings. People often ask how I get a cow to stand for so long in high heels! I am strongly influenced my the work of Edward Lear, Paula Rego, John Currin and Michael Austin.”
