3 New 2020 Graduates: Annie Crowe, Chloe Davies and Poppy Capon

Introducing 3 new graduate artists:

Manchester School of Art's Poppy Capon's work calls to mind the scattered blossoms of Cy Twombly.
"Heavily inspired by the Action Painters of the Abstract Expressionist Movement’s revolutionary process and ideologies on applying paint - I embrace the spontaneous and physical act of painting. Furthermore, as a contemporary artist, I am extremely fascinated and influenced by the action involved in creating art and not necessarily representing a particular message within it. Consequently, my practice is dedicated to producing vibrant, captivating artwork intuitively."

University of Chichester graduate Chloe Davies:
"Naked. A different kind of beautiful. My art practice is about relationships - between the physical body and internal thought. The relationship between myself, the author of the art presented, and my audience, you. The relationship between the hapticity of paint application and the subject of the female form. My paintings represent composite figures, creating a togetherness out of the way the parts add up to the sense of the form of a whole body."

Manchester Metropolitan's Annie Crowe:
"I am a Manchester based ceramicist, specialising in wheel throwing and textural glazes. Combining simplistic forms as a canvas to explore experimental and tactile glaze and create sculptural objects.

Finding inspiration within the natural world, my work is informed by the transformative effects of environmental weathering and the patterns and textural qualities that imprint on surfaces by the ongoing reconstructive process of decay."
