3 New 2020 MA Graduates: Charles Binns, Abby Wright and Evangeline Baldwin
Introducing 3 new MA graduate artists:
Chelsea College of Art's Evangeline Baldwin: " My work looks at infunctionality of objects, by anthropomorphically transforming them into containing aspects of human-hood. I explore ideas of class, construction, consumption, and the notion of uselessness. My paintings are a reflection of my thought processes and the understanding and/or development of my sculptures."
Central Saint Martins graduate Abby Wright:
Abby Wright is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, United Kingdom. She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and is completing her MA in Contemporary Photography: Practices and Philosophy at Central Saint Martins in May 2020. Her art practice is based on simultaneous narratives, and using art as a non-linear language through the philosophy of entanglement by Karen Barad. Right now, Abby is exploring Lacan's jouissance in a post-structuralist way by creating abstract, strangely juxtaposed, and over saturated images.
Central Saint Martins graduate Charles Binns:
" My practice is a response to the degradation of the cultural and natural landscapes that I have encountered during my travels throughout the world. The world is undergoing a process of radical globalisation and once vibrant and unique cultures are being subsumed by a global culture which is dominated by ubiquitous corporate brands. Traditional cultures are characterised by shapes and colours that combine to give them a distinct visual identity. "
