4 New graduates: Madeline Rolt, Elise Wallbridge, Ashley Chadwick and Abigail Lence
Introducing 4 new graduate artists:
Falmouth's Madeline Rolt:
" I derive intense pleasure in a lyrical use of shape, texture and image to create interconnected narratives. Combining traditional and contemporary approaches, I experiment across a range of disciplines including painting, print and sculpture. The work is celebratory of both dark and light moments. Thoughtful, melodic and personal."
Wimbledon College of Art graduate Elise Wallbridge:
"I make oil paintings from childhood holiday photographs, transposing memories of animosity and anxiety hidden within. Nostalgic photographs trigger reflections on my memories and dictate them becoming an emotional visual display."
University of Gloucestershire graduate Ashley Chadwick:
" A study of Roman architecture and the perceptual system evolved my interests in illusionistic space and the discrepancy between expectation and reality. "
Leeds graduate Abigail Lence:
"I make oil paintings from childhood holiday photographs, transposing memories of animosity and anxiety hidden within. Nostalgic photographs trigger reflections on my memories and dictate them becoming an emotional visual display. Memories are not fixed by a single photo, they are stored and repressed in the subconscious, making it a challenge to recall the exact moment, but a fluid stream of coming and going mental processes."
