A Reminder of What Art Brings

It’s different for everyone, isn’t it? What draws you to a painting, to a sculpture, to a piece of art - there’s a kind of magic in it. And one of the most wonderful things about original art is exactly that: it’s original. Completely unique. A moment in time that an artist has captured, created, breathed life into.
For me, original art is alive. It brings an energy into a space that nothing else can. It’s very different from a reproduction or something mass-produced, even if it’s cleverly made to look “original.” There’s an authenticity, a vitality, in truly unique work—it becomes part of your field of energy / environment.
Sometimes, the energy a piece brings is grounding, anchoring us when we need stability. Other times, it’s intuitive, instinctive, even freeing. Personally, I find myself needing to bring art into my space that grounds my more intuitive energy, that anchors my free-spirited energy and helps me feel more aligned with the earth. But that’s the beauty of art: you don’t need to know why you’re drawn to something. That’s part of the magic.
Original art is like a moment in time, captured and made tangible, just for you. As long as the piece is in your collection - it’s just yours. In the same way that no moment in life can ever truly be repeated, art becomes a part of your journey, your history, your space.
For me, a home without art doesn’t quite feel like a home. The artwork on my walls reminds me of who I am, where I’ve been, and where I’m going. One of my personal favourites is a piece by Orlanda Broom - her resin works capture a sense of wild joy and vibrancy. They feel alive, bursting with energy and movement, and yet there’s a grounding quality to them too.
We’re incredibly lucky to have a selection of Orlanda’s works currently available on the website. Orlanda has been showing with us for years, and her work is highly collectible. If you’ve ever thought about investing in one of her pieces, this is a wonderful opportunity to bring something truly special into your life.
