Everything on New Blood Art is original: unique paintings, drawings and sculpture, and fine art prints made by hand by the artist in small signed editions. The one exception is The Print Studio, a separate section of reproductions of original works.

Discover the Next Big Names in Art: Featuring Damaris Athene and Sarah Shaw

Gallery Newsletter

We are pleased to introduce an exciting new artist, Damaris Athene, a nominee for the New Blood Art Prize. Athene's transdisciplinary practice explores the posthuman condition, seamlessly blending painting, sculpture, photography, and digital collage. Her work is highly collectible and promises to bring a unique and thought-provoking presence to any space. Athene is currently studying for an MA in Ceramics & Glass at the Royal College of Art, supported by the prestigious Marit Rausing Scholarship. She has also been awarded the City & Guilds of London Art School Prize for Outstanding MA Fine Art Exhibition and the Leverhulme Trust Scholarship. As an artist poised for greater acclaim, her creations are a testament to the evolving dialogue between the digital and physical realms. View and purchase her work directly from our website.

Additionally, my latest article in Money Week, "The Big Names of Tomorrow," delves into the value of investing in emerging artists. The article explores the challenges and opportunities for up-and-coming artists, particularly in terms of building a career and gaining recognition in the art world. It discusses how the art market has changed over the past 20 years, with the rise of online platforms and social media providing new ways for artists to market and sell their work. For more detailed insights, read the full article in MoneyWeek Magazine on page 32 of the latest issue.

New works on our website include monochromatic geometric pieces by Toni Harrower (which would work particularly well hung together in a grouping) and enticing watercolour paintings by Jan Valik.

We are also excited to feature new work by Sarah Shaw, a British painter whose enigmatic oil paintings inhabit a liminal space between figuration and abstraction. Shaw's process involves constant redefinition, driven by an ongoing dialogue between herself and the canvas. Her recent series "Diableries" renews her focus on excavating color from familiar contexts with stark lucidity. Shaw's work is held in private collections around the world, including those of musicians Ronnie Wood and Thom Yorke.
