Everything on New Blood Art is original: unique paintings, drawings and sculpture, and fine art prints made by hand by the artist in small signed editions. The one exception is The Print Studio, a separate section of reproductions of original works.

From the studio: Ethics meets the upside

I was speaking with a journalist today and she asked why we focused on emerging artists and it got me thinking about the roots of the company - which started in the seed of an idea conceived when I was at art college in the 90's. From every side of the coin I think the focus on emerging artists is a valuable enterprise and one that works for buyers, for artists and for the scope of the internet (as past a certain price point it can be tricky to sell work online) and from which, accidentally an investment aspect developed - as I discovered artists at degree shows who went on to do well and see price increases we gained a reputation from an alternative investment point of view - because when you discover an artist right at the start of their career you are only playing the upside - their prices are as low as they will ever be. and you are also in no small way influencing their success and encouraging them to go on making work, which in turn has an impact on their prices. so it's win-win all round and quite a compelling combination of ethics meets upside.

At the heart of NewBloodArt are relationships - with art colleges, with artists and with buyers. Most of the artists I have met, some of them are good friends now and it's the same with the buyers.
It's always a challenge to translate the behind the scenes experience of artists lives into the digital space. in an attempt to share some of the magic - here are photographs of 3 of our Masters artists in their studios with a selection of their available works below.
