Introducing Jennah Hart's Sense of Reverie
Introducing Jennah Hart’s Sense of Reverie
Jennah Hart graduated this year from Bournemouth College of Art with First Class Honours in Fine Art. Of her practice she says:
"Experimenting with transparency, layering and lacunary space I aim to create my own visual language, to create enigmatic surfaces that inexplicably draw the viewer further into the equivocal space, and hold them in a sense of reverie."
Our take on Jennah:
Painting on plywood – working with both oil and acrylic – the brushwork presses softly, but with insistence, at the edge: the boundary of the frame, the boundary of the paint’s visibility. Surprising transitions of tone, and directions of line, characterise this work, imbuing it with the sense of what is more than meets the eye – and coaxing this into discernment. Throughout this painter’s work you can follow the trace of this journey’s subtle radiance.
