Meet 2 new artists: Dylan Leddington and Luke Hamel Cooke
Dylan Leddington: "I am an Birmingham based visual artist, a graduate of Arts University Bournemouth. I find the world around me of great interest and have a drive to capture it through the mediums of paint and pencil. Drawing and painting has allowed me to document my new surroundings and escape when I have needed to. I am drawn to the abandoned, disused, and forgotten places around our planet, focusing on spaces that once served a function or have remnants of human life long gone. I am using present day dilapidated architecture to encourage thoughts of possible futures where the spaces we inhabit may end up in a similar state. Linking to wider contexts of the Anthropocene and Futurism."
Luke Hamel Cooke: Luke Hamel Cooke works mostly in clay and bronze generating organic forms mostly without tools, using only his hands. The work suggests growth, movement and fertility appropriating the language of natural forms without being specifically representational.
