Minimalism

The Tate says of Minimalism: Aesthetically, minimalist art offers a highly purified form of beauty. It can also be seen as representing such qualities as truth (because it does not pretend to be anything other than what it is), order, simplicity and harmony.
For David Om, minimalism also offers a purity - "a mindful meditative antidote to the chaos of today’s information overloaded world" - as such he considers many of his works minimalist.
Janine Hall describes her work as being about “..keeping things simple, often about repetition and making all the elements ‘sing’” and that when she achieves this, she finds the work more beautiful. David Iain Brown uses new technologies - such as laser cutting to create a minimal aesthetic whilst working with a complex image - using a simplified colour palette to maintain the minimalist nature of the work.
For Wayne Sleeth unencumbered areas are crucial to his compositions and he notes - “ it is air and space that allows finely detailed parts of the painting to breathe”.
Michaela Hollyfiield works in an often limited colour palette, her painting 'Calm' was made using just two colours and three horizontal lines and Glib Franko‘s work could be described as Minimalist Impressionism, where the landscape is depicted in the minimalist form.
