New Arrivals at New Blood Art: Rosemary Burn, Sammi Mak, Glib Franko and more
New Arrivals: A Collection of Poetic Realism
This week, we’re pleased to introduce several new pieces to the gallery, each rich in narrative and layered with meaning. Rosemary Burn offers a contemplative painting of an open cardboard box, transforming a mundane object into a portal of curiosity. Her practice, which often elevates the overlooked details of everyday life, imbues this simple scene with a sense of presence and quietude, reminding us of the beauty in the ordinary.
Sammi Mak continues to mesmerise with a new series of paintings, varying in scale from intimate to statement-sized works. Each canvas is defined by gentle, gestural strokes and poetic titles, such as It’s a Blessing if We Struggled and Dreams Await us in a Country We Cannot Get Tickets To. These titles and the delicate brushwork invite reflection, evoking the nuanced emotions embedded within everyday struggles and desires.
Also new this week is Ed Saye’s evocative study on paper for Hippie Golfer 2, a work that offers a glimpse into his larger-scale canvases, full of intricate details and layered imagery. His work explores the intersections of memory, history, and space, inviting viewers to step into a dreamlike landscape.
Finally, Glib Franko presents a striking canvas piece, celebrating the circle, a bold statement of form that radiates energy, perfect for both contemporary and domestic settings.
This collection speaks to the quiet moments in life, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and find meaning in the details.
