News Just In: Rebecca Fontaine-Wolf, Rosemary Lewis, Alice Miller and more
Spreading the Word.
News just in – eight of our artists have been selected to exhibit at the ING Discerning Eye’s annual exhibition. The show focuses on smaller works, based on selections made by six prominent artworld figures (two artists, two collectors, and two critics). It’s a really unique opportunity, especially as selectors made their picks personally, without a deliberating committee.
Alice Miller, Judy Pilarczyk, Steve Burden, Kira Phoenix K’inan, Morag Caister, Rosemary Lewis, Katie Hallam and Rebecca Fontaine-Wolf are all showing their unique works.
Usually the exhibition is held at the Mall Galleries just off Trafalgar Square in London, however this year it’s all going virtual.
From the energy of Miller’s photorealist painting ‘Nighttime Conversation’, to the zingy ephemerality of K’inan’s glass sculpture ‘Marigold Disk’ – there’s a variety of work to be enjoyed. Pilarczyk’s monochromatic oil painting ‘Hands’ shines a light on touch, whilst Morag Caister’s dual coloured ‘Unmoveable’ boldly captures the human spirit. Elsewhere, both the urban and natural landscapes are explored, in Burden’s ‘Pepys Study 30’ and Rosemary Lewis’s ‘Japanese Anemones, Kew Gardens’. Finally, sculpture and photography combine in warped and surreal ways in both Katie Hallam’s ‘Imaginary Sculptures’ and Rebecca Fontaine-Wolf’s ‘Caput Mortuum’ series.
