Everything on New Blood Art is original: unique paintings, drawings and sculpture, and fine art prints made by hand by the artist in small signed editions. The one exception is The Print Studio, a separate section of reproductions of original works.

Real authenticity – newly available original artwork

Peaceful journeys, quiet homecomings and artist achievements.

New artwork this week seems to follow the theme of journeying, perhaps hibernation is coming to an end. for some at least (others are still peacefully asleep - see Kathryn Lloyd's intensely observed sleeping portraits).

The rain is beautifully portrayed in the work of Brigitte Yoshiko Pruchnow, whose work is currently on tour with a French gallery, she is also busy preparing work for Art FairTokyo in March, when another gallery will be showing her work, so we are pleased to have these few pieces available for sale through us.

There's something inherently comforting about Peter Kettle's new work, perhaps it's the slightly elevated view of the landscape, reminiscent of flying home, the first sighting of the familiar UK patchwork landscape - with its gently, inevitably bruised sky. and then Julia Blackshaw's 'Swinging' - so light and hopeful in spirit.

Other exciting art news:
Jo Hummel Newell - two artworks shortlisted for the RWS contemporary prize. The president has suggested she apply for membership which involves presenting a portfolio of work early Spring.

Julie-Ann Simpson has an exhibition coming up in association with the Grampian Hospital Arts Trust. A percentage of the profits will go to the Arts Trust charity. It's a great cause as it generates lots of creative activities for patients, visitors and staff.

Creativepool have selected Elayne Barre as a featured photographer for their annual prize.

Excitingly Blair Blair McLaughlin has been awarded a Dewar Art Award. The awarding board give monetary trust fund awards to support young Scottish artists - "Scotland's Brightest and Best". Blair has received funding for the Turps Banana Correspondence programme which he is undergoing this year - his course and material fees have been covered, which will allow him to spend more time focusing on his work without the worry of costs. I am so looking forward to seeing how his work develops with the security of this backing.

Please let me know if I can help in any way.

ps - I mentioned the wonderful work of Andreas Soldini recently - we still have some pieces available of exceptional quality - and 2 very happy buyers who are delighted with their new pieces!
