Margaret Ashman’s figures are studies in movement, balance and gesture. Rather than functioning as portraits, they capture the body in motion, giving each work a strong sense of rhythm and physical presence.
The restrained palette allows the figures to sit easily within contemporary interiors, while the brushed gold aluminium adds warmth and a subtle luminosity that changes with the light.
Each work is striking on its own, but the series is especially powerful when shown as a pair or triptych. At the larger sizes, the figures become almost life-size, creating a dramatic sequence across a wall without overwhelming the surrounding space.
Limited edition fine art print on brushed gold aluminium, presented in a solid wood ArtBox frame, (4mm brown alder).

Concerned about buying a piece you haven’t seen in the flesh? ▾
We don’t currently have a gallery space where you can view the work in person, though depending on where you’re based, a studio visit can sometimes be arranged. What we’ve found, overwhelmingly, over twenty-two years: when someone falls for a piece on screen, the real thing is more, not less. Colour, surface, scale, presence. It works that way around. It’s why, across two decades, our returns have been minuscule.
But rest assured: if it isn’t right when it arrives, it can be returned within fourteen days.
