BA Hons Illustration with Animation, Manchester Metropolitan University, 2010
Theresa Reilly-Cooper's drawings transform everyday food into something vivid and exact. Working with remarkable observational precision, she captures surface, structure and colour with unusual control. Set against a white ground, each image feels clean and heightened: crisp, contemporary work with real presence and force.
I graduated in 2010 from Manchester Metropolitan University, where I studied Illustration with Animation. My colour work is defined by its hyper colour – I exaggerate all the colours, so the end result is a vivid interpretation of an everyday food. It's amazing how many colours and textures are actually involved in each drawing. The same principles of crisp lines, negative space and a variety of textures run through all of my work.
