Artwork in-situ: James Matthew O'Connell

James Matthew O'Connell is an exciting graduate artist. We came across his work at his BA show this year (2015) at Wimbledon College of Art. He’s made a remarkable emergence into the art world – being invited to show in a group show of just 14 artists (whose work addresses themes of repetition and variation) including esteemed artist’s Louise Bourgeoise and Bridget Riley. Such a significant endorsement so early in an artist’s career is notable. James was also awarded the Hans Brinker painting prize in 2014 – a prize that goes to an outstanding graduate from Chelsea, Camberwell or Wimbledon College of Art.
