Rosemary Burn Joins the Masters

Recognition For Artists Who Stay True

There are two ways to make a living as an artist. One is to study what sells, repeat the formula, and produce what the market expects. The other is harder - and far more valuable.

It’s the path of truth. Of going inward. Of making work that reflects a real, lived experience.

At New Blood Art, we only represent artists who choose that second path - those who create not to please the market, but to express something real.

We’re proud to announce that Rosemary Burn has joined the Masters section at New Blood Art. A figurative painter of rare precision and depth, Rosemary’s work captures the world with clarity and care - offering paintings that are not only technically accomplished, but genuinely felt.

Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and ING Discerning Eye, and is held in private collections including those of filmmaker Colin Trevorrow and designer Zandra Rhodes.

We’re also pleased to share that Sam Wood and Orlanda Broom, both represented in our Masters section, have been selected for this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Sam Wood’s raw, introspective paintings - built through layers of oil on panel - hold a quiet power, capturing the humanity and atmosphere of his subjects with disarming honesty.

Orlanda Broom creates lush, richly coloured landscapes that lure the viewer in - her paintings balancing beauty and danger in scenes that feel both utopian and untouchable.

The Masters section brings together artists who are forging a meaningful path - not driven by trend, but by a sustained commitment to making real work, on their own terms.

That commitment relies on more than just the artist. Collectors, too, play a role in this integrity - by choosing to support work that isn’t following the trends, but stands on its own terms.

A well-observed painting, like those by Rosemary Burn, will never date. It brings a quiet discernment to a space, and a particular kind of joy - knowing that what you’re looking at was truly seen, deeply considered, and beautifully resolved.

NB: Perhaps also worth noting that the most iconic, long-lasting, and high-value work in the art market ultimately is rooted in authenticity - in a unique identifiable voice. For truly great artists, authenticity comes first.
