ART
Everything on New Blood Art is original: unique paintings, drawings and sculpture, and fine art prints made by hand by the artist in small signed editions. The one exception is The Print Studio, a separate section of reproductions of original works.

Into view
Work in Sarah's sightline.
Into View is the new heading for a section of the gallery where I’ve highlighted works that I’m particularly drawn to. It used to be called Director’s Picks, I prefer this new title. It’s really an invitation to look more closely at these particular pieces.
I’m often surprised that some of the works are still available. We tend to draw your attention to new work that’s just arrived, and we have First View as well, but new isn’t necessarily better and over the 22 years I’ve been running the gallery, I’ve seen exceptional works slip out of view for one reason or another, only to be discovered and acquired much later. So, I want to bring these works into your view and invite you to take a closer look.
Orlanda Broom is an artist I’ve mentioned time and again, as the recognition she’s attracting continues to grow and her work evolves in the most glorious way. She’s an extraordinary artist to invest in. Snakeberry is so rich in colour, and those colours would make a brilliant starting point for a mood board for an entire space.
Georgia Boardman. I’ve highlighted this particular piece, Untitled 31 Glass Pieces.. and 62 Metal Fixings.., many times. I understand that 31 individual pieces would take some placing, but I think it would be exquisite running through a space, along a corridor or up a flight of stairs, with all those different colours of glass catching the light. I saw a brilliant video on House & Garden a few days ago, featuring a design couple who had some of her relief work on their wall, that looked stunning. She’s an outstanding artist, and I really don’t understand why this piece hasn’t been snapped up.
Ellie Whitbread’s Limitations in the Shadows photographs are extraordinary, particularly at the largest size of 180 cm, when the figures become life-size. These are limited-edition photographic works on aluminium.
Luo-Han Chen’s Night Atlas pieces, again, I’ve highlighted on many occasions. Such a unique vision. These works really deserve to be examined closely. They’re exquisite. Night skies rendered in these extraordinary formations, unlike anything I’ve seen before. We’ll be featuring her in the Spotlight section shortly, as she has a solo exhibition about to begin. I’ll share more details soon. But really, seriously, take a look at this artist.
Tom Speedy’s Adrift, Jan Valík’s Window to the Summer Breeze, Ed Saye’s Dream Grass Reality Game and all their other works. Again, Ed is an artist I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions..
And Phoebe Hardwick’s The Dress. Have you seen this painting? There’s something of a feminine Michael Borremans about it.
Take a look at these pieces. The entire gallery is of course carefully curated, but these are the works standing out for me at the moment. I really do encourage you to bring these original works by emerging artists into your view.
